Hunter-Vogel 30 Details

The Vogel 30, also known by its model name 'Hunter', was built by Vogel Enterprises (owners Wink Vogel and Hunter Vogel) in Vancouver, Canada during the late 70's and early 80's. Our hull was constructed in 1982. The naval architect, Aage Utzon, was perhaps best known for his design of the Danish Spidsgatter class of sailboats: double-ended, strong, roomy and seaworthy boats for cruising and racing. On an interesting sidenote, his son Jørn Utzon designed the Sydney Opera House.

Freya, our Vogel 30, is constructed of fibreglass and is cutter rigged. A bowsprit adds approximately 3 feet to the original design.
